Point Shovel
Ive got a 49 shovel with pan bottom. I m lookin for electronic ignition for it , cuz the points just wont hold?
Does mallory make a kit that replaces the points, but still uses the distributer, and if so HOW expenesive I need too known thanks
Here’s one kit http://store.prestoliteperformance.com/accel-mc/v-twin-motorcycle/e-spark-electronic-conversion-kit.html And here’s another http://www.ebeyond2000.net/quickstart.html I have heard good things about the Ebeyond Quickstart.They run about 185 dollars.I still run points in my 56 Panhead and have no trouble with them.If you use good quality points and condensers they are fine.Blue Streak points are very long lasting.I don’t know why your having trouble unless your not lubing the cam lobe on the distributor.Personally i would stay away from the J C Whitney kit the other poster talks about.Much of that stuff is made in Mexico junk that just doesn’t last.
